There is so much to do in the local area I don't really know where to start! In the immediate area there is of course the delightful sandy beach with numerous rock pools to explore, sandcastles to build, kites to fly and games of beach cricket, tennis or bouls to be played. Sailing, canoeing, windsurfing or fishing for mackerel, sea bass, and other species can be enjoyed, whether from the beach, cliff rocks or perhaps a boat. Follow the cliff path south and visit the lifeboat station at St. Justinian's (you can also go on fishing trips from here, or visit the bird sanctuary at Ramsey Island), or go north to visit Whitesands beach (which has been granted the European Blue Flag Award) or Porthmelgan beach just a little further towards St. David's Head. Perhaps you'd like to cycle around the country lanes or play golf at Whitesands Bay Golf Club (Haverfordwest also has a fine course).

Then of course just two miles from the cottage is St. David's with it's majestic cathedral and historical medieval Bishop's Palace. There are numerous craft shops and art galleries and a number of excellent restaurants and cafes - one with internet access. The local primary school has an indoor swimming pool that is open to the public and the local RAFA Club has welcomes visitors and has a snooker room. You should also look for the Tourist Information Centre where you will finds details about many other attractions; horse riding, a sheep dog trails centre, a cheese making factory and a chocolate factory to mention but a few..

For those seeking a bit of excitement there are high speed boat trips around Ramsey Island where you get a chance to ride the rapids of Ramsey Sound. Or if you fancy it something more physical the cliffs around the area are home to TYF coasteering.

Alternatively you may like to seek your thrills at Oakwood - an adventure park that boasts the largest wooden rollercoaster in Britain, as well as many other rides. A full days fun is guaranteed and it's only about an hour from the cottage. Nearby there is also a cracking go-cart circuit.

Oakwood

Another attraction I'd highly recommend is Heatherton Park. A whole day could be spent here too. There's a vast range of activities, go-carts, archery, laser target shooting, crazy golf, croquet, target pistol shooting, baseball, horse treking and a challenging 18-hole pitch and put course.

For those wishing to experience something different, and truely "Welsh" a trip to the National Coracle Centre is Cenarth Falls is a must.

           Folly Farm

"Younger families" seeking a fun filled day out couldn't do better than visit "Folly Farm". Much more than a farm, almost a mini wildlife centre that also hosts a magnificent indoor Victorian Fairground.

Also in the local area is the port of Fishguard, here you will find a cinema, bingo hall, and a small oceanarium with cafe and soft play area. It's also possible to take a day trip to Ireland where you can visit the famous glass making town of Wexford.

Between St. David's and Haverfordwest at a small village called Keeston is a most fascinating Motorcar Museum that will interest both young and old.
